He was a founding member of the US Solar Institute in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and has played a pivotal role in advancing sustainable practices.

Attributing much of his success to his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University, Garrett’s analytical thinking skills have been honed through his academic and professional pursuits.

Based in Columbus Ohio, Garrett enjoys hosting family dinners with his wife, four daughters, and two grandchildren.  He is always on the lookout for the next great recipe.

Scott Elliott | CEO
Big Tech Thinker & MacGyver Bartender

Scott is not your average CEO.  With over four decades as a results-driven business leader, he has extensive experience in entrepreneurial business growth with a hard science background. Scott has been CEO of ten different companies in the Marietta, Ohio area.

He has worked on international teams that have pioneered novel solutions to problems in chemistry, transportation, and construction: from calcining Sodium Sesquicarbonate, to the recovery of valuable metals through waste pyro-processing; and from construction of rapid deployment military field shelters to helicopter tie-down installations.

His primary function in Day Arc has been to assemble the primary talent to drive the company forward in the coming rapid expansion of Day Arc’s technological advances.  Scott holds a BS in Zoology and Applied Chemistry from Denison University and a Masters in Nuclear Medicine from The Ohio State University.

During a chance meeting in 2005, Garrett met Scott at Garrett’s Jamaican restaurant/nightclub during construction.  Scott provided the sand for the outdoor beach (free of charge) and the two have been good friends ever since.

Scott makes the most of his personal time by spending it with his wife, Amy (Day Arc Advisory Board), four children, and six grandchildren.  He combines entertaining, cooking, and an inventive approach to bartending that quickly becomes a full-on race to see who can have the most fun.  Special talents include the ability to shake two aspirins from the bottle every time and consistently answering any question with a question (except with Amy).

Trent Elliott | Vice President
Versatile Performer, Business Ninja & Proud Papa

Trent began his career with a window manufacturing company in Chicago before returning home to his beloved Marietta, Ohio, where he consulted with companies to transition their Quality Management Systems from ISO 9000:1994 to ISO 9000:2000.  When a Quality Management opportunity opened at his family's business, Marietta Industrial Enterprises, Inc. (MIE), Trent jumped at the chance to work at the company his Grandfather started.

Trent graduated from Marietta College with a Bachelor's degree in business management, and a double minor in English literature and theater.  In 2003, Trent launched Silicon Processors, Inc. (SPI).  SPI acquired land and technology from MIE, and started processing Silicon Metal for the solar industry, eventually growing SPI’s market share to over 60% of all domestic photovoltaic silicon.  Years of successful growth lead SPI to expand its operations to include a river terminal, rail yard, and processing plants that supply pollution control products to the power industry.  At the same time, Trent continued learning every facet of the incredibly complex MIE business, and was eventually named President of MIE in 2018.

Trent’s hobby is acting and he began his acting career at the age of sixteen as a professional “summer stock” actor aboard the Becky Thatcher Showboat in Marietta, Ohio where he performed in nearly 200 shows over 3 years.  He is now the proud father of three teenagers: two girls and one boy and they can often be found together in the kitchen whipping up something new.
